CHARACTERISTICS

Wine has dark ruby colour, with hints of violet shades. Wine is typical for the variety with aromas reminiscent of wild berry fruits, especially black currants and blueberries, as well as green pepper, even mint and cedar. The mouthfeel is complex, harmonious and soft, full bodied with soft tannins. Let this wine makes your day!

 

VARIETY CABERNET SAUVIGNON

“Red French that never disappoints”

Cabernet sauvignon is the most planted red wine variety around the globe, renewed for the quality and refined wines that can be produced from its grapes.  The variety gained international reputation also due to the wine ageing potential. Cabernet Sauvignon was brought to Brda in the second half of the 19th century.

Variety is recognised by small round, five to seven lobbed leaves with deep lateral sinuses. Leaf is dark green and glossy on the upper side and has trichomes on the bottom leaf side.

Bunch is small and compact attached to a vine with a short pedicel. On the bunch we can find small round berries, having thick waxy skin.

Budburst is late, therefore variety is often unaffected by the spring frost. Maturation is also late; therefore, it requires only the best expositions to reach full maturity and optimal grape quality. The best results are given when Cabernet Sauvignon vines are planted on well drained flysch soils trellised to guyot.

Cabernet sauvignon wines are full and generous and reflect our stubbornness.

Wine is perfectly accompanied by beef, red meat, steaks, ripe cheese or game. Do not forget that this wine should be served at temperatures between 14 and 16 °C.
