Chardonnay was introduced to Brda among the last international varieties. The first vineyards were planted only in the first half of 20 th century, but took a fast lead in the plantation area. The success of Chardonnay in Brda was paved by the complexity of the wines produced from these grapes. Also, in our winery Chardonnay is a pillar of complex white blends.

The variety has large non-lobbed leaf without trichomes and »U« shaped leaf petiole. Bunch is small to medium sized, compact with one or two wings. Berries are small to medium, round and yellow. Berry skin is thin and pulp is sweet and juicy.

The variety is a terroir sponge.

But the best can give the best only in optimal conditions, therefore, we pay extreme attention also to our Chardonnay vineyards.

Vines are subjected to regular defoliation and also green harvest is usual to control the crop load and to produce the best quality grapes.

Big French variety that will not leave you disappointed.

CHARACTERISTICS

Wine reflects an intense yellow colour with green undertones. The maturity of the harvested grapes is reflected in the wine, which is rich, complex, even slightly spicy. The nose reminds of tropical and local fruits, especially pineapple, peach, apples, mango, melons and more. On the palate, wine is fresh with nice acidity and minerality. Complexity, which in the mouth works smoothly and velvety.

OUR RECOMMENDATION

This rich wine is the best to enjoy with slightly spicier and complex dishes. We recommend it to red and white meat with side dishes, such as potatoes, risotto or pasta, gnocchi and struklji. It also goes well with more demanding gastronomy, for example, wild poultry, such as ducks, pheasants and others. Optimum serving temperature is between 8 and 10 ° C.
