The mouthfeel is round, complex, mineral and fruity. On the palate you will perceive citrus fruits, pineapple, peach and honey, supported by nice minerality. Minerality is typical for flysch soils where the grape are produced.
“Shyer among Reds but self-confident among Whites”
Another international variety that found its place in Brda and it is used on our wine farm for production of a mono varietal wines as well as blends. The variety is very special in its appearance, as the berries are purple colour, whereas the wine is white. Individual berries on a single cluster can vary in its colour from yellow to dark purple. The variety developed from Pinot Noir through the series of somatic mutations. Pinot gris was brought to Brda from Germany in the beginning of 19 century.
Pinot gris has large three lobed leaf, covered in trichomes on the bottom side. The petiole sinus is lyre shaped and petiole is reddish.
Bunch is small, attached to short petiole and very compact. Berries are small and often deformed because of the compactness of the bunch.
Berries can be white, light or dark purple colour. We grow Pinot gris on sunnier expositions on heavier soil. The trellis system is double guyot which enables production of top quality pinot gris wines. Red and white, blended invisibly in the same glass.

OUR RECOMMENDATION
Our Pinot gris will not disappointed you in combination with traditional Mediterranean fish dishes, with raw fish such as sushi and carpaccio or fish from oven and shells prepared on buzara. For those who are rather meat eaters, enjoy pinot gris with roasted chicken, turkey, pate, and also with prosciutto and salami (šalam). Do not forget to cool the wine to 8 to 10 °C.
